The History Project: Creating a Virtual Museum

Australia's ICT Heritage & Future

The Pearcey Conversation, a regular online fireside chat style event that is open to the entire community and intended to be a broad-based engagement activity.

Moderated by a member of the Pearcey Foundation, or one of our many award recipients, who is well-informed on the topic of the Conversation. One to three subject matter experts will speak for a few minutes on their perspective. Most of the time is given over to active discussion which includes the audience.

This Conversation covers the project to encompass, record and make accessible the ICT heritage of Australia. Areas include a continually updated written book, a virtual museum and a resource to find and highlight the many public and private ICT history collections.

Moderated by Dr Peter Thorne - historian, consultant, advisor and former head of Computer Science and Deputy Dean of Faculty Uni of Melbourne.

Speakers

  • Dr Bronwyn Evans - CEO of Engineers Australia
  • Prof Maurice Pagnucco - Deputy Dean UNSW
  • Graeme Philipson - historian, journalist, author and presenter.
