With the experience and hindsight of 20 years nurturing excellence Australian design, WORKSHOPPED’s Raymond Scott chats to Australian designers about their industry.

The conversation will focus on industry development, designers’ career experiences, their mentors and inspiration, the projects they loved and pivotal business decisions. Has the global pandemic affected the design industry and how are these designers adapting to the times.

Raymond Scott is a director of WORKSHOPPED.

Established in 2001, WORKSHOPPED was formed to support and assist Australian and New Zealand product, lighting and furniture designers get their product to local and global markets. WORKSHOPPED’s annual exhibition has presented the work of over 650 Australian designers through 20 exhibitions, attended by over 750,000 people. The exhibition is a platform for emerging and established product, furniture and lighting designers and their designs. Many of the products exhibited have moved from prototype to production and market. WORKSHOPPED are very proud to retail many of the products that have emerged from WORKSHOPPED’s exhibitions.

Adam Cornish is a multidisciplinary designer working from his independent design studio in Melbourne Australia. Adam aims to create honest accessible products developed through research and by allowing products to find their natural expression. By combining strong, simple design solutions with a palette of natural tactile materials Adam strives to create individual products with visual and physical longevity.

Alex Gilmour's experience covers a broad area of industrial design including local and offshore manufacturing, production management and concept design. She has extensive experience in graphic design for web, print and presentation, having worked as a freelance graphic designer for a variety of corporate and media agencies.

In 2010 she created Evie Group with Dominic Chong. Together they design and produce a range of award winning homewares, lighting and furniture. Evie Group also provides graphic and product design services and custom project work with interior designers and architects.

In the twenty years since he graduated with honours in Industrial Design, David Knott has adopted a strategic approach to his career development building upon a wide scope of experiences, ranging from graduate study in Italy to exhibitions of his work in several countries and engagement with a number of internationally renowned design companies. He is the co-founder of Alquemy – an award winning design consultancy with a specific focus on the home and kitchen environments.
