Joanna Yan, Entrepreneur and Private Equity/Investment Manager

Joanna is the founder and CEO of Anothen Herbals. Anothen shares the power of natural and herbal remedies to benefit people's health through alternative behaviours.

Joanna comes from a long, proud family lineage of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). With over three-generations of repeated clinical success and witnessing over thousands of successful treatments through her grandfather’s practise, Joanna uncovers her access to a big repertoire of family recipes in alternative medicine and preventative remedies.

Joanna has personally experienced the health benefits of her grandfather’s herbal remedy during her past journey with period pain and endometriosis which inspired her to start Anothen Herbals. Her grandfather's recipe has also attracted attention from SBS and received clinical confirmation from National Institute of Complementary Medicine (NICM) Research Institute. It was also shared on Facebook with over 4.4M views.

After the completion of her studies and has worked clinically in radiation oncology, Joanna continues to have the aspiration to empower nature, by bringing accessibility of the finest herbal remedies to the global community for a new beginning in wellness.

Whilst being an entrepreneur, Joanna is also an investment manager at MAI Capital, a family Office based in Melbourne. With a strong pursuit in value creation, she believes the best investments are in creating win-win partnerships and sustainable growth for the business.
