What is the VIC On-Farm Internet of Things trial?
The Victoria On-Farm Internet of Things Trial is a $12 million dollar government initiative to increase adoption of digital agriculture practises across regional Victoria. The trial will measure and analyse the impact of these technologies on farm performance and productivity. Round 1 of the trial ran earlier in 2019-2020 and enrolled 92 farms. Round 2 of the trial is non-competitive and is open to up to 500 farmers, applications will be assessed on a first in, best dressed basis.

► Information on the VIC On-Farm loT Trial
► Who is eligible and how to apply
► How loT technology can improve productivity and profitability on your farm
► See some of the latest loT Agriculture technology from LX and partners such as AgCloud
► Soil moisture probes, weather stations, water and irrigation management, spray optimisation, stock management and other sensors.
Round 2 of the Internet of Things Trial is now live, and open to applicants across 5 areas:
- Wellington Shire
- Buloke Shire
- Loddon Shire
- City of Greater Shepparton
- Moira Shire
To be eligible, farms must be a commercial property that is either a: Dairy Cattle Farm, Horticulture Farm, Broadacre Cropping or Sheep Farm in one of the above regions. For full eligibility criteria please read through the applicant guidelines.
