Nominations for the People's Choice close online 28 Nov 2021
A new awards ceremony is set to shine a light on entrepreneurs, leaders and investors across the startup ecosystem. Initiated by the Victorian Government, the awards celebrate the outstanding contribution to the fast-growing sector. Nominations for the Investor of the Year and Ecosystem Hero of the Year categories are being sought from the startup community, which will then be put to a public vote.The winners will be announced at an invite-only awards ceremony at Government House in 2022.

This week's DIF Flashback looks back to 2017 when a chance meeting of entrepreneurial Gippslanders resulted in the creation of Binary Shift – the region’s first startup and tech conference. They met at the DIF Regional Roadshow briefing in Traralgon that year and set themselves the challenge to launch a new conference in eight weeks Binary Shift was born and has been a feature of the Digital Innovation Festival ever since.
