ScienceWorks have plenty of holiday activities for kids of all ages with their Summer Holiday Program, the Born or Built? Our Robotic Future Exhibition and the ever-popular Planetarium Nights.

Planetarium shows for kids and adults

Learn about Mars in Sciencework's brand new Planetarium show Tycho goes to Mars. This fun, animated show is suitable for the whole family.

Augmented Reality Animals at Melbourne Museum

In this 1.5 hour workshop, Learning Lab digital experts introduce the theme of animal camouflage, its function in nature and the science that drives it. Participants then create their own augmented reality face-paint using digital art technologies. 

By the end of the workshops, participants will have gained lifelong skills in digital art technologies, designing digital masterpieces that can be captured in video and shared as digital keepsakes.

An Immersive Van Gogh Experience at The Lume

The inaugural experience at THE LUME Melbourne will feature the vibrant works of the Dutch master Vincent van Gogh.

Van Gogh’s works have been exhibited and admired for over a century – but never like this. Transcend time and space as you accompany Van Gogh on a multi-sensory journey through the Netherlands, Paris, Arles, Saint Rémy and Auvers-sur-Oise while his beloved masterpieces come alive on an epic scale.

'Identity: yours, mine, ours' Virtual Exhibition by the Immigration Museum

This exhibition explores how our cultural heritage, languages, beliefs, and family connections influence our self-perceptions and our perceptions of other people – perceptions that can lead to discovery, confusion, prejudice and understanding.

Engaging personal stories, intriguing objects, compelling images and interactive multimedia experiences invite visitors to find connections with others, as well as challenge the assumptions we make about each other every day.

'Art of Science' Online Exhibition by WEHI

WEHI Art of Science Exhibition

This free three-dimensional online exhibition experience is a feast for the senses. Featuring a selection of stunning still and moving images captured by Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI) scientists in the course of their research, the exhibition is accompanied by a captivating soundtrack provided by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in a true collaboration of art and science.
