Grants for innovative regional businesses

Do you have a game-changing business idea that will help regional Australians?  Applications are now open for the Innovate with nbn® Grants Program

Businesses throughout regional and remote Australia often face numerous challenges. Whether it be related to their relative isolation, or simply finding ways of promoting themselves – finding a path to success can be hard.

Now in its third year, this initiative aims to help regional based businesses and individuals transform their great ideas into game-changing achievements.

Run in partnership with the Regional Australia Institute (RAI), the Innovate with nbn® Grants Program is part of nbn’s commitment to lift the digital capability of people and businesses in regional Australia.

Last year many applications were received from businesses right across regional Australia who are doing wonderful things digitally enabled by the nbn.

So if you are a business that is harnessing the benefits of the nbn® network to develop products or solutions that improve digital participation, productivity or social outcomes for regional and remote Australians apply! 

Who can apply? 

The programs is looking for digital businesses in regional and remote Australia who live and breathe technology and are:

  • Harnessing the benefits of the nbn network to enable regional Australians to live, learn and work in a digital society

  • Innovative digital businesses challenging traditional markets in regional Australia

  • Businesses who are lifting digital participation and stimulating regional economies

  • Champions of digital adoption for regional and remote communities

Grants 

There is $125,000 in total funding up for grabs to support regional and remote businesses drive the development and adoption of their ideas.

Across seven categories – Agriculture, Arts, Education, Health, Indigenous Business, Tourism, and Women in Regional Business – each winner receives $15,000. 

The overall Innovate with nbn® Champion will be awarded an additional $20,000 grant to help take their idea to the next level.

The closing date for applications is midnight Sunday 20th November.

Regional and remote communities across Australia are a priority for nbn, and in 2019 a dedicated business unit - nbn® Regional & Remote – was created to help meet the needs of customers in rural and regional Australia, while aiming to raise the digital capability of these areas.
