Immersive Science IV: Science Champions - A Family SciVR Event

The Universe is waiting to be discovered!

Celebrate National Science Week with your family and friends - we're excited to bring you this kid friendly virtual reality event run through your smartphone!

SciVR is an immersive astronomy experience enabled by a virtual reality (VR) smartphone app. Your visit for the morning session at twistED Science Echuca includes access to the VR experience and your own VR headset to use with your smartphone.

From special global events using dozens of telescopes to daily monitoring of the radio sky in Australia, SciVR will take you on the hunt for things that go boom!

We’ll explore the origins of mysterious and energetic phenomena, tracking events as they occur. Dr Rebecca Allen and A/Prof Alan Duffy share the latest wonders of space research using Australian facilities, like the CSIRO Parkes telescope, to reveal more about the nature of these extreme and transiting objects.

Join us to have a play together in our interactive science space, and then join us for the Livestream screening at 11:15am.

Entry is at our standard ticket prices, and includes your VR headset - which you keep after the event so you can keep exploring the SciVR app.

This session is shorter than our adults only event and aimed at kids shorter attention spans - if you're over 16 and you'd like to investigate the universe more deeply, check out our Adults only Event on Facebook.

Capacity is extremely limited - please call us on 1300 98 48 23 or email to book.

This Inspiring Australia initiative is supported by the Australian Government as part of National Science Week.
