Bendigo's New Gold Rush

Gold made Bendigo and much of the region. Currently the Greater Bendigo region, through the Fosterville mine, has achieved an international profile and Minerals Development Victoria has identified potentially vast gold resources to the east and north east of Bendigo. The jobs and investment potential of what could be Bendigo’s second gold boom is emerging as perhaps Bendigo and the region’s most significant economic development opportunity. While mining itself generates jobs, the support industries and services are very substantial.

The Bendigo Invention + Innovation Festival will return in 2022 with a new name to celebrate and promote local innovation, nurture great ideas and bring world-class innovation thought leaders to Bendigo.
