How do we ensure equality of access to digital technologies in a country as vast as Australia?

The global pandemic clearly highlighted inequalities in access to digital technologies for students and schools. As usual the divide was felt most keenly by students and teachers in areas of low socio-economic status,(SES) and those in remote communities.

It doesn't matter if the State governments implement programs to provide devices if there is no reliable internet coverage. Australia is a vast country with patchy infrastructure in remote communities.

Having had over a year to explore the digital divide we need to listen to the voices of educators and introduce policies towards reducing the inequalities.
