#MCIW2022 - Building the World’s Best 5G Smart Apartment

Originally presented at Melbourne Connect Innovation Week DIF2022 - Tuesday, 6 September

Earlier this year a team of Telstra graduates built the world’s best 5G Smart Apartment in Docklands, Melbourne, and embarked on a learning adventure to road-test Telstra’s next generation 5G network.

Through immersive, hands-on learning, the team connected over 100 devices to the network, uncovered rich technical data about 5G networks, and developed a real world understanding of user experience and customer stories.

Join this exciting interactive panel event as a group of Telstra graduates share their behind-the-scenes stories and insights from the project and reflect on their learning journey. Telstra’s Principal, EME Strategy, Governance and Risk Management, Mike Wood, will also reflect on the role of interactive learning and hands-on experience for the professional development of Australia’s future technology leaders.

MELBOURNE CONNECT INNOVATION WEEK 2022
A five-day innovation festival delivered by the Melbourne Connect community.

This year’s Melbourne Connect Innovation Week, presented in partnership with Telstra, brings together the expertise of The University of Melbourne, industry, and government in Australia’s leading innovation precinct to unlock new and groundbreaking solutions to some of society’s biggest challenges.

Connect with a community of researchers, industry experts, startups, students, and creatives, and discover more than 30 events over five days. Running from 5 to 9 September, events will span from panel discussions and pitches, to workshops and demonstrations and a whole lot more.

Powered by The University of Melbourne and developed in partnership with a consortium led by Lendlease, Melbourne Connect brings together world-class researchers, government, industry, entrepreneurs and higher-degree students in a purpose-built innovation precinct right in the heart of Carlton.

The first three days overlapped with the DIF2022 Festival and we feature some of these sessions here on-demand.
