--

This workshop is split into two parts:

// PART 1 //

On the weekend of the 5th & 6th of October 2024, we'll have a 2-day online workshop that involves the theoretical part of creating infographics. Max. 8 people.

// PART 2 //

You'll have a choice of 2 weekends, either:

– on the weekend of the 13th & 14th of October 2024 or

– on the 20th & 21st of October 2024 (max. 4 People each weekend).

This is the 2-day hands-on part of the workshop, where we'll create an infographic on a given topic. This second part is in person at the Surfcoast, in Anglesea, VIC, Australia in our beautiful Beachhouse.

--

Over the four days, we'll dive into the world of information design, exploring research and design principles, data visualization techniques, and storytelling strategies. We'll work with a choice of two Softwars: if you have Adobe Illustrator already subscribed, you're welcome to use that, if you are new to using design software, you may want to use an alternate software, that is cheaper and has a 30-day free trial: Affinity Designer 2. (Note: You will need to complete a series of 6 short video tutorials before the hands-on part of the course starts if you have never used this software.)

Our workshop will be held online for the first weekend and the second weekend will be in Anglesea VIC, Australia, in a beautiful coastal beach house that will inspire your creativity. You'll have the opportunity to learn from NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC designer and author of 7 infographic books: Esther Gonstalla. Esther has won numerous awards and specializes in climate change, sustainability, and the state of the environment. During the workshop, you'll collaborate with fellow participants, and gain practical skills through real-life projects.

Why in Anglesea, Wadawurrung country, at the surfcoast? It's a special place surrounded by the Great Otway National Park, only minutes from world-class surf break Bells Beach and just 1h15 min from Melbourne! You can enjoy watching the sunrise at the beach, going surfing in the morning before classes start, going on a nature walk for sunset, or watching the kangaroos hop around on the nearby golf course. We also provide bicycles to the participants for a quick roll down to the beach or to grab lunch at the fish and chips shop!

We believe that inspiration and relaxation in nature are very important for creativity!

By the end of the workshop, you'll be equipped with the knowledge and tools to create or brief compelling infographics that effectively communicate information. You'll finish the course with an infographic created solo or in a group. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to enhance your design skills and unleash your creativity.
