HOW WILL YOU SCIENCE THIS NATIONAL SCIENCE WEEK
National Science Week is a program of Inspiring Australia, a national strategy for getting Australians engaged with the sciences.
National Science Week runs from 10 to 18 August 2024
Running each year in August, it features more than 1000 events around Australia, including those delivered by universities, schools, research institutions, libraries, museums and science centres.
These events attract a wide audience from children to adults, and science amateurs to professionals. Over one million people participate in science events across the nation.

Find an event
In-person events, virtual tours, webcasts, talks, DIY experiments, quizzes, citizen science and competitions. Discover online and real world activities to join in.
Run an event
National Science Week is a collection of events staged by individuals and organisations that together make up one of Australia’s largest festivals.
There are science experiences all around Australia to enjoy. We’ve got a bucket list of museums, observatories + more. Check with venues for COVID-19 details.
State Organisers
There is a volunteer National Science Week Coordinating Committee in each state and territory. The committees organise events, plan local promotional activity and in some cases have grant rounds for event seed funding.
