Do you want to feel more empowered and confident in your career?

Sam brings to life her journey from the Helpdesk to CIO. Sam built her career one role at a time by saying 'Yes' to opportunity.

Sam will talk to the strategies she put in place to build an exciting global career. Plus what to do when it all goes wrong and it has!

She will discuss challenges she faced, how she overcame these including balancing motherhood and working with a non-identified diasability (Sam is blind in one eye).

More about our May speaker Sam McIntyre

Sam grew her career from the Help desk through to CIO and is now Founder of Lady Leadership - an organisation which supports and promotes women’s careers.
Sam has 30+ years experience empowering and inspiring women in technology at leading Australian and global brands such as Woolworths, Wesfarmers - Kmart and Target, Loreal, Sportsgirl and Sussan Group and Coles.

Sam operated as a CIO for the last ten plus years leading many large complex global technology, digital and transformation teams. Sam is a fierce supporter of women and their careers - always growing the number of women in technology in her teams. More recently Sam consults to Technology companies and she Chairs a CIO Leadership forum.

Lady Leadership - The Confidence Project 

Sam launched Lady Leadership 4.5 years ago and now spends her time helping women grow their careers plus helping organisations tackle diversity and inclusion.

Sam has an online Coaching course to help you in your Career. Plus she has a Leading podcast and newsletter called Lady Leadership- Careers and Businss for Women with 90+ interviews and over 13500 downloads

What is IOW?

The 'Importance of Women in IT' (IOW) series is a networking speaker event for our VICT4.W members and their guests, where we ask inspiring women and men in ESTEAM fields, to share their experiences about the job they do now, how they got to where they are, the challenges they faced, the pitfalls they experienced along the way and the successes celebrated.

Founded in 2005, Vic ICT for Women Victorian Information Communication Technology for Women Network (VICT4.W) is a not-for-profit organisation that operates to increase the entry, retention, and progress of women in the ESTEAM industries. Our vision is to actively promote and support women throughout their ESTEAM careers. Our mission is to provide a range of practical and sustainable initiatives that will promote urban and regional women’s entry, retention, and progression in tech.
