Victoria hosts 2022 National iAwards
iAwards 2022: showcasing excellence in Victoria and Australia’s digital innovation
Delivered by the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA), the iAwards is Australia’s longest running and most broadly scoped innovation recognition program, promoting excellence in the Australian digital ecosystem. The Victorian Government is a proud long-time major sponsor of the iAwards, hosting the national awards since 2008.
On 20 October 2022, the National iAwards celebrated Australian startups, businesses, government agencies, students and NFPs tackling the year’s theme of ‘real world problems: real world solutions’.
Victorian winners
Chief Judge’s Award and Business and Industry Solution Award Merit Winner: Lenexa Medical for their Pressure Injury Management System, which uses in-built sensing capabilities and smart software to detect and monitor pressure injury risk (bed sores).
People’s Choice Award (Joint Winner): Two Bulls & Service Victoria for the Service Vic Mobile App, which supported secure and convenient check-ins and proof of vaccination.
Sustainability & Environmental Solution Award Merit Winner: South Street Energy for their Distributed Generation Network, which enables owners of solar, wind and biogas generators to sell electricity directly into the National Energy Market.
Start-up Solution Award Merit Winner: Kite Magnetics for their Kite Magnetics product, enabling electronic aircraft to fly further and carry more by combining novel materials with advanced manufacturing methods to produce the world’s highest performance electric motors.
Victorian Government Inspiration Award
The winner of the nation-wide Inspiration Award, sponsored by the Victorian Government, was the remote Marble Bar Primary School in the East Pilbara (WA) collaboration with Elders and developer Airborne IT to create a first-of-its-kind virtual reality gallery, showcasing Nyamal Culture to local and international audiences through an exciting, cutting-edge STEM virtual world.
