The DIF2023 festival might be over, but there’s no shortage of events as we move into the warmer months. October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, with AISA Cybercon returning to Melbourne from 17 to 19 October at MCEC. This year Australia’s leading cybersecurity conference features a keynote by Professor Brian Cox as well as the exciting new Lock Sport Village and our first ever RSAC CISO Boot Camp.
Regional innovation is booming with LaunchVic's flagship startup conference Thrive [25 Oct] returning and the Ag To Food Discovery event [27 Oct] set to inspire the next generation of ag businesses. And you can also visit and explore a Future-ready city at the Casey Innovation Summit [27 Oct].
In awards news, pop these in your calendar: Women in Security Awards [12 Oct], The Blockies [9 Nov] and Pause Awards [4 Dec]. International news, the AIIA iAwards winners will represent Australia at the APICTA Awards in Hong Kong [5-8 Dec]. Congratulations to all the finalists and all the best for your presentation nights.

The Digital Innovation Futures Festival 2023 wrapped up on 6 September, after two weeks of events offering an inspiring showcase of Victoria’s diverse and lively digital innovation scene. DIF2023 featured more than 300 events, with over 1,000 delegates converging for Fintech Australia’s Intersekt, this year’s festival flagship event.
Thanks to all our DIF Hub partners and a shout out to Cremorne Digital Hub for hosting their first Community Challenge won by Carsales and to Melbourne Connect for their third Innovation Week. Congratulations to Culture Amp’s Didier Elzinga for receiving the Victorian Pearcey Entrepreneur of the Year Award on the closing night of our 8th DIF Festival. For those eager to learn and connect online, this year’s festival also introduced DIF Live, with sessions on diverse topics ranging from discovering untapped markets, the benefits of optimism, how to nail your pitch and the importance of sleep health on workplace productivity.
